What are we looking for?
A chainsaw is certainly the best tool for making fast and efficient cuts. Either way, there are definitely more ways to cut wood. Manufacturers make chainsaws with a variety of engine sizes and chain guide lengths. Which one to choose depends on the user's personal needs. If you only need to cut a few branches, you won't need a particularly large motor and a long chain guide, of course. If, on the other hand, an old, dry oak tree needs to be felled, you may need a minimum 50 cc engine and a 50 cm chain guide. In order to choose the right machine, it is worth considering which combination of the following characteristics best suits our ideas
Special features – Modern chainsaws have many features and special functions that are very useful not only for beginner users, but also for advanced handymen. If anyone has ever used an older type of chainsaw, they remember that the chain was a lot of trouble, requiring the right tool to tension the chain to ensure smooth running and prevent jamming. Among modern machines, there are types available that do not require such accessories for chain tensioning. At the same time, the machines are also equipped with a starting aid, thanks to which the engine can be started with much less force. Modern chainsaws are full of features that make them easier to use. These include, for example, the decompressor valve, anti-vibration modules, increasingly ergonomic design and lower weight, vidia toothed chains and so on.
Performance – The engine size of chainsaws is usually given in cubic centimetres. For use around the house, sizes between 32 and 45 ccm are ideal. These engines are capable of delivering relatively high horsepower. In case of greater use, choose a semi-professional machine in the same size category. Only professional saws above 50-55cc are suitable for industrial use. The special, so-called wood care saws represent a separate category, they usually reflect the way of use in their design. They typically have a single top handle with integrated controls and light weight for one-handed operation. Their engine size is between 20 and 35cc, and their performance is correspondingly lower, 1-1.6 HP. They are specifically for pruning.
Compact size – One of the most significant features along which chain saws have developed a lot is the way design and practicality are becoming more and more connected and manufacturers are designing more and more compact machines. The old chainsaws were a bit clumsy and it was quite difficult to work with them for a long time. Modern machines are much more compact, although of course there are still some that command respect, depending on the size of the engine. Of course, the size is also influenced by whether it is an electric, battery-powered or explosive saw.
When it's time to cut wood, whether it's pruning larger trees or chopping up winter firewood, a chainsaw is definitely the best choice for fast and efficient work. In order to be able to do our work in the best possible way, it is worth doing thorough research in order to find the one that best suits our needs.

SAFETY FIRST! Perhaps it cannot be emphasized enough that a chainsaw is not a toy! In any case, carefully study the user manual supplied with your chainsaw! Follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly
